Awesome dinner in a nice restaurant with interesting cocktails and food. Service was on point, recognizing we had some time constraints and wiring hard to get us out by a certain time. All the food we tried was great. I had both the crawfish bisque and the reddish on a halfshell. I would happily order both again. We visit family in Lafayette and we were delighted when they recommended Vestal for our latest visit.
A perfect fusion of American classics and Louisiana dishes cooked over open wood-fueled flame , served up in a comfortable and modern concept. Came on recommendation from two different locals who said this was the best restaurant in Lafayette. We were not disappointed. Reservations were needed, but the hostess was able to accommodate us by the kitchen. It worked out GREAT. Was able to see the chef Sullivan and his crew perform their magic on each of the dishes. Every member of the staff was very friendly - from the hostess, servers, chef, our waiter Zach, and the general manager Aaron. Just get two orders of the Roasted Oysters to start. Trust me on this one. Even the Mac and Cheese was delicious! The creme brulee was delectably perfect. Get it! If cocktails are your jam, you won't be disappointed with the selection. My only gripe was that it was very loud on a Saturday at 7 PM. Felt like it was a night club. Made conversation challenging at times. If you need to change diapers, the unisex bathrooms will have accommodations for your baby. A thoughtful touch. Will definitely return if I ever come back to Lafayette.
Hostess was rude and didn't want to seat us when tables were available. We had to find our own seats.
Jess from the coffee + wine bar recommended us to try out Vestal after our latte and wine @ Carpe Diem... So glad we did! The aesthetic of the restaurant was stunning! Attire was casual to dolled up, which was nice as we didn't have a reservation or plans to have last minute bites here. The 4-star on the food was only on the Focaccia bread... it was soft but flavor was just slightly lack luster. The crab cake and meatballs + cocktails were on point! Molly our server was so great! She's got the most cheerful personality and loved her recommendations for food/drinks.
I had a fabulous dining experience at Vestal. Our group rented out the restaurant for an event and often, restaurants don’t deliver when there is a set menu for a large group - but Vestal absolutely did!! I was welcomed with a smile and a cocktail, then our group sat down and was treated to a delicious four course meal. The crawfish bisque was my favourite dish. I would return here next time I find myself in Lafayette.

We finally tried Vestal and overall had a great experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was top notch, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely make reservations ahead of time — we didn’t and ended up sitting at the bar, which honestly worked out just fine for us. One thing to know before you go: if you’re looking for a super quiet, intimate dinner spot, this may not be it. Once the restaurant filled up, it did get pretty loud and was a little hard to have a conversation across the table. But overall, the food and experience absolutely made it worth it.
I celebrated a big personal milestone at Vestal tonight and had an amazing experience. My server Joseph made the night. He gave great recommendations for both drinks and food, and everything he suggested was exactly what I was looking for. He even let me sample a dish before I ordered, which was so thoughtful and not something he had to do. On top of that, Joseph was incredibly attentive and kind the entire evening. I have a mobility disorder, and when I was leaving with my flowers and leftovers, he helped carry everything and walked me to my car, offering his arm for support. That small act of care and respect meant a lot and made me feel safe and looked after. Vestal is a beautiful place with great food, but service like Joseph’s is what makes it truly special.
This place was phenomenal. Great atmosphere in Lafayette. Bartenders were nice. I had a lot of small plates. We were really tasting as you could see these pictures although I really like café Josephine’s oyster is better. This place is really good as well on their grilled oysters. This restaurant feels like it should be in San Francisco New York City good people can’t wait to come back
My wife and I made reservations here for our 5th Anniversary and we weren't disappointed. The service and our waitress (Molly) were outstanding. The cocktails were unique, but delicious. Our food, including dessert, was really good (The filet was like butter). This is definitely a place I would recommend to family and friends in the Lafayette area and beyond.
